Automotive LED projectors primarily provide a lot of light, with a well-focused, non-blinding light beam for road use. The advanced optics of these projectors (especially bi-LED), the curved light cutoff shield, and the entire chipset used inside create a properly distributed and wide light beam.
With the factory-installed transparent lens, the light cutoff is nice and sharp.

If you don't have the space or simply the patience to deal with all the necessary equipment that, for example, powers HID-based systems (xenon kit), this is a sufficient reason to look at LED projectors.
